John R. Burton was born and raised in the Fort Worth area. John received a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Texas at Arlington. He went on to law school at the University of Mississippi and graduated in 1993. John participated in Moot Court and studied European Community Law in Greece. John has been practicing law since 1994 when he joined the Law Office of James M. Stanley.

John's primary areas of practice are automobile collisions, wrongful death claims, Texas Tort Claims Act cases, construction accidents, insurance bad-faith claims and criminal cases throughout the state of Texas, including Johnson, Hood, Tarrant, Parker, Wise, and Dallas counties.

John is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association (TCTLA), and Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA).
